S P Bhatnagar retired as Professor of Botany, University of Delhi. As a CAS Senior Visitor of the British Council he worked at the Botany School, Cambridge University. He has published extensively in both Indian and foreign journals. He compiled a bibliography on the embryology of angiosperms, and also co-authored a textbook on gymnosperms.
