R Gopalan is a PhD from the University of Madras. He taught at Madras Christian College for 35 years and guided several MPhil and PhD students. Currently, the Director, Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science, Madurantagam, Tamil Nadu, he is a freelance writer and teacher. He has authored 50 research articles and 30 books. He was awarded UGC Emeritus Fellowship on his retirement.
