He retired as Vice Chancellor of Sharda University. Earlier, he taught at Lovely Professional University and Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He did his BTech, in Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Delhi and was awarded the President of India Gold Medal for being the best student of his batch. He did his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. His research interests include High-Speed Aerodynamics of Biofluid Mechanics. He has co-authored the textbooks Heat and Mass Transfer, An Introduction to Engineering Design Method and Fluid Mechanics and its Applications.
