This book is designed as per the revised curriculum R23 for undergraduate (B.Tech./BE) students of ECE/EEE/EIE branches, those who study Network Analysis/Electrical Circuits/Network Theory/Circuit Theory. The primary goal of this book is to establish a firm understanding of the basic laws of electric circuits, AC circuits, magnetic and coupled circuits, resonance, network theorems, transient analysis, Laplace transforms and two-port networks. The book describes various circuit elements, energy sources, formulation and solution of network equations, various waveforms including sinusoidal and other periodic for evaluation of RMS value, average value, form factor and peak factor, fundamental of magnetic circuits, analogy between magnetic and electric circuits, various magnetic properties and coupled circuits, resonance phenomenon in both series and parallel circuits along with their comparison, various network theorems necessary for simplified analysis of both DC and AC electrical circuit problems. The book also describes classical method of solving differential equations and transient analysis of RL, RC and RLC series/parallel circuits for various excitations. A new method of circuit analysis Laplace transform method has been introduced. The concept of two-port networks, which have a vast application in many fields such as transmission lines, filters, communication systems etc. have also been describes in this book. The contents of this book are presented in a simple way for easy understanding of students and can be used as self-study material.
