D Venkappayya is a PhD from IIT-Madras. He is a former Dean and Head, Department of Chemistry, NIT, Tiruchirapalli. He has been teaching engineering chemistry since 1975 and has guided several doctoral candidates and published about 60 research papers in international journals. He is presently Head, Department of Chemistry, and Dean of Examinations, SASTRA University, Thanjavur.
