She has more than three decades of teaching and research experience, presently working as Professor of Political Science in Bangalore University. She is honorary editor of Mahatma Gandhi Translation Project of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Bangalore Kendra since 1996, where the Collected Works of Mahatma Gandhi are being translated into Kannada; the first 24 volumes are published. She was also a Fellow at the Institute for Studies in Industrial Development (ISID), New Delhi.  She has co-authored a book in English on Contemporary Political Theory published by P.H.I Publishers which is a prescribed text and reference book across India and surrounding countries.
