New S Chand ICSE Toposheets and Maps for class X

S. Chand's ICSE Toposheets and Maps have been carefully designed following the latest syllabus prescribed by the Council
for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) for Class 10 students.
This book aims to enable students to read, interpret, and analyse real-world physical and cultural features on topographical
sheets, thereby helping them to develop applied geographical skills and connect theoretical knowledge with practical
applications. Through structured observation and interpretation, the book encourages critical thinking, enhances spatial
intelligence, and strengthens visual learning by improving the ability to visualise landscapes and understand spatial relationships.
At the same time, it promotes the use of scientific methods of observation and measurement, fostering accuracy, precision,
and clarity in data interpretation.
From 2022 onwards, CISCE has adopted a new set of topographical maps, specially prepared by the Survey of India for
educational purposes. These belong to the Open Series Maps and are based on the UTM projection using the WGS 84
datum plane. The G43S07 and G43S10 sheets have now replaced the earlier 45D/7 and 45D/10 sheets.
